Hmm semi-odd premise, but it looks like it could be good. I've only seen a few Jet Li movies, and given the volume I am prone to think that they must be of sub-standard quality. Could be the Japanese or intended audience are just really into martial arts though.

Some one was talking about this film on the SS:UK last week, so I will post up my reply again...

Can not say that I have been impressed with Jet Li's acting in western films so far.

Like Lethal Weapon 4 (1998) and Romeo Must Die (2000), he did not have any lines in english as he was still learning it. I have not seen Kiss Of THe Dragon (2001), but my house mate was not impressed with it.
THE ONE (2001)... Carla Gugino one line in Manderine was much more convincing than Jet Li entire dialogue in english. That speach about out Gabriel Yulaw was just trying to make the multiverse a better place made me cringe.
Cradle 2 the Grave (2003) was not much of an improvement either.

Meanwhile, movies like Ying xiong (2002) and the Once Upon a Time in China series where absolute master peices. It's not just the acting, but the quality of the movies just go down hill when they bring some of these easter actors out to the west.

Jackey Chan and Chow Yun-Fat are another 2 examples.
(However not so bad with Chow Yun-Fat provided we can forget about that film Bullet Proof Monk)
Donnie Yen's tallents to be able to kick *** was wasted in
Blade II as he was over shadowed by Ron Perlman, who really can not act IMHO.

Just wish that these great easter actors just stop coming over into hollywood, as they get treated like a monkey over there in the western films. Like Sonny Chiba performance as Hattori Hanzo in Kill Bill Volume 1 was a classic example of this.

The only thing that has my interest in this film is that is a french movie as...

I am checking out imdb on this movie, and it does have some good names.

Luc Besson (writer) and Robert Mark Kamen :- both have worked some films that I have enjoyed.
Louis Leterrier (director) :- He's a new director, but i enjoy the movie THE TRANSPORTER.

Personally, I do find that who ever is writting and producing the film is more important that who is actually staring in it. You might actually find me seeing this one on a tight *** tuesday.
