Lightbulb thoughts on 'flaming'

Can we just get along?

If no one flamed another member, all would be good, but for some reason... sometimes a member feels like he/she has to "flame" someone in order to feel better about themself.

Why?

By doing so, you only reflect negative on yourself.
Then your post gets deleted.
Then more than likely your banned.
and so on.

Learning how to express your opinion in a civil manner is a SKILL that many do not have, yet practice their whole life.

Discussing and explaining your point in a civil manner takes lots of knowledge.....

So don't flame, as it only reflects your lack of knowledge, skills, and dealing with human nature.

NOTE:
If you get flamed, please PM a mod... it will get deleted ASAP.
and be the better person and resist 'flaming back'

Thanks

PS. Have you ever been driving your car and someone gets upset and mad at you. You really did nothing wrong, but the other driver insist that you did something to P___-him-off.

The guy is yelling at you. Giving you the finger. Honking the horn.. etc.

The BEST thing to do.... Just give him a big SMILE and wave and say Hi, How are you!

it will drive the other driver insane.

do the same thing on TF.

Nah, I always tell him to pull over so I can kick his ***. They never do though. Everyone thinks their invincible cause they're in a car. I follow the guy around until he starts getting really scared regreting he ever flipped someone the bird. It's usually those old guys with small mans complex. He's just like **** I messed with the wrong guy. Ya I'm psycho!

Larry, I agree with your comments but yesterday there were certain posters on this board who I thought went beyond the line (as in sh*tting on the OT thread and made some personal attacks that were unprovoked) and I felt compelled to let them know their actions were both clearly assinine and uncalled for. And when I get antagonized that way, it's a bit hard for me to hold back my tongue. But you're right I should have probably bit my tongue cuz most of my words probably went right over their heads anyway.

I understand the last thing you want is the boards filled with such flaming posts be it just one or two it's still a PITA and a hassle you do not enjoy dealing with.

I suppose in a more ideal sense I should have taken the high road and let them pass by w/ their fresh smelling roses and sometimes in I am able to do that in my life professionally and personally. But I'll be frank and say it was hard to ignore these two wonderful & socially adept persons. My patience w/ both of these intellectual powerful giants were growing thin as both antagonizers had made personal attacks against me on MORE than 1 occasion in the past.

They obviously have a axe to grind with me or either that they're just "intellectually" challenged and need to vent their fustrations at someone. Instead of PMing me or expressing their opinion in a fairminded manner, they continued to post their flames and their antagonizing behavior just beggin for a discourse in 'How not to look like a fool on a forum' - and of course I'm sure they took copious notes.

I think Nak-1's comment was the best when he said:

the best way to bring up the quality is to lead by example, be better than those who just want to make twats of themselves...

Unfortuantely, In the process of defending myself, I allowed myself to sink to their level.

Alas, I understand where you are coming from and I apologize for my actions in contributing to that thread.

You are wonderfully wise and observant Kostas, I have edited my postings to reflect a better style of posting. I hope you enjoy it and suits your tastes. LOL.

Have a good day!

I too, apologise. Most of the time, I deal with idiots quite well, but in this case, I lost my temper, and for that, I apologise. There's an unwritten rule not to show a person's hypocrisy to others. I broke that rule in dealing with lone wolf...

Even this thread here, though subtle, is turning into a flame war. You guys are ridiculous. Check your ego's at the door and stay on topic.

I am tired of having to go through this every other month. I think that me and MB should just start banning people.

Hey! I'm over here too Gu......I mean Shakie!
Yes, I agree as well. It's getting a little rediculous. And there's nothing to blame here.....it's not anyone's age.....intellectual status....height....weight....etc. It should just friggin' stop....
I'd much rather help people out with actually technically related questions, proprigate topic traffic to their appropriate forum levels, run the quizzes, etc than babysit. If you can't hold it in......just PM one of us and VENT! I'll take it....I don't care. JUST PLEASE DON'T SLAM, FLAME or whatever you call it in your posts.
