I used to be a Bush fan, as I think he did a good job after 9/11, much better than Clinton or Gore would have done...but since then he has done everything to lose him my respect as well as the respect of most of the country.

First of all, we need to get to the bottom of the Iraq thing. This war is unjustified any way you look at it. Either Bush lied to the nation about WMDs, or...somebody lied to him. There was a lie somewhere up there to start this highly unnecissary war. Bush's Katrina response is what really ticks me off though....here he was strumming on a toy guitar like a little kid when thousands of people were stranded and dying in New Orleans. Then he goes and defends the big oil companies when they raised the price of gas so high after Hurricane Katrina.

Another troubling thing is how he nominates Supreme Court justices who will further his agenda...not somebody who thinks objectively. No other US President in recent history has done this, and in fact many justices have quite different views from the presidents they were nominated by.

Yet another thing is how he has no respect for technology or the advancement of it. Under Bush's watch, the United States has fallen from being a broadband leader in the world, to the last of the industrialized nations still with a majority on dial-up. Only once during his 2004 presidential campaign did he even mention spreading availability and quality of broadband Internet service. It blows my mind how its common in other countries to see at least a 10Mbps connection in every online household, but in the US is still on 28.8K modems. Bush himself admits that he has never used a computer and never plans on it.

Yet another thing is he used the gay marriage scare to win him this election. He even tried to amend the constitution, which would have been the first amendment to the US Constitution discriminating against a specific group of people, to show the religious right that he was serious about stopping gay marriage. However, we haven't heard one thing about this since his inauguration. Whether you are for or against gay marriage, this shows that he wasn't sincere about his belief there and was just using that to win him the election.

I have more against Bush, but I will explain it in another post.

Thats a true statement. What ever happened to the Ronald Reagans, JFKs, Franklin D Roosevelts? It would be nice if we could get a president one of these days who was in the position to further the good of the country rather than for his own personal gain.

We ***** and moan about the prices of things, and our army actually doing something, but look at it this way, as someone also said, gas would go up indefinately no matter who the president was. And if we had some wimp afraid to lift a finger as a Pres., we would not have even done anything after Sept 11....
If Kerry were elected, the troops wouldn't be over in Iraq right now so gas would NOT have gone up indefinitely. All the war is doing is keeping our troops out of America, and raising gas prices. We really aren't doing much over there these days.

One thing i found wrong around when the war started: Bush declared war on Afghanistan. Later on, he claimed the war to be on Iraq. After that, he claimed the war to be on terrorism. Then he trys to call out Kerry on flip-flopping?

Personally, i disapprove of Bush. Especially after the Katrina "incident," shall we say.

70% Approve/30% Disapprove...

Bush obviously has faults, but it's more to the point of whos are greater...Kerry's or Bush's?

I really don't know what Kerry would be like (nor does anyone...beyond speculation, and what he says "he would have done"). And I get the feeling Kerry wouldn't have done any better--maybe a few things different ways--but in the end, worse.

We can all name a million and a half problems for Bush now that he has been in the White House for years...think about Kerry's list if he had been president that long

Kerry would have been president for only one year now >_< It took what, 3 1/2 - 5 years for people to see how much they started to hate bush? Anyways

Gas prices have gone up because he don't have enough refineries to refine the oil which makes prices go up even more, despite the high price of oil, and then this war takes a LOT of our gas/oil production which will raise prices even more. And even Bio Diesel isn't helping because its costing just as much if not more, only thing its doing is keeping the gas/oil here.... And there is no point in fighting a war thats no longer needed, go out and find the real terrorist, not the people who are trying to get us out of there country, we have no right to stay there any longer.

I don't like Reagan one bit. What a terrible guy with money.

The only way you'll get someone of that kind of charactor anymore is if more people would vote on independents or at least non-partisan votes... either way, I don't think its that bad at all.

Bush is a lot worse than Reagan with money, atleast he let the american people have the money instead of putting the money into a war and taking money from states which lead to the major cuts in our schools here.....

I approve of him. And as for 9/11, he did a great job in handling it...

And for all of the democrats that are going to say "Bush was the reason why 9/11 happened"..... Let me tell you this...... Under the Clinton administration its funny how 2.5TB's of data on Mohamed Atta was destroyed right before Clinton had to leave office.........

How do you like them apples?

Chankama - you use 'you' too much in your statements "You guys are wasting your money" , "You guys aren't liberating iraq"....I have nothing to do with what the president does...yeah I'm under 'his rule' if you want to call it, but I'm not the one making these decisions to go to iraq and crap.

It should be stated as 'your government leaders' or something along those lines...not this "You guys" stuff
