First I'm gonna make all you mac lovers mad by saying, stupid piece of crap macs and their worthless quicktime nonsense.......

WHY the CRAP isn't the quicktime player just easily obtainable.

It seems no matter where I go to upgrade my quicktime (because for WHATEVER stupid reason, when a quicktime movie is loading in the browser, and it goes UPDATE NOW TO 7.1! the stupid thing freezes the browser) it leads me to the stupid apple page. THEN, I can't even seem to find their simple quicktime codecs/player and be done with it. NOOOOOOOOOO it's gotta be this stupid 35mb Itune setup file..........just for quicktime!?

sorry, had to rant, because quicktime just annoys the living christ out of me.

EDIT: Well, hallelujah, I actually found a freakin standalone player somewhere masked behind all the huge "ITUNES AND QUICKTIME!!!!" ads that they shove in your face.

yes it does, but unfortunately people feel compelled to put videos ONLY in quicktime format.

Why cant it all be something simple and not mac ********? i freakin hate Quicktime in the browser. It always takes longer to load for some reason.

Apple sucks, but ITunes, their "music" program, is utterly useless!


There are alternatives for a good reason:

ITunes - Windows Media Player, Winamp
QuickTime - " " with codecs

I don't have to own a mac to say it sucks. I've used them before, and for people like qiranworms who I know will slam me for this if I don't address it, it WAS during the OSX days.

As I said before, the UPDATE seems to FREEZE the BROWSER

Not quite the browser itself, but when I try to click "Continue" on the stupid update it just beeps at me.

I swear to god I want to choke Steve Jobs every time that Quicktime asks me to upgrade to the Pro version. Since pretty much all videos and music on the web are essentially platform independant Quicktime as a format has long outlived it's usefullness.
