| Spare Computers Kicking Around Ive got four computers (for now, more on the way eventually) in my basement, ranging from a Pentium 200MHz to a Pentium III 800MHz. Right now Ive got them all hooked up to a switch, and they are all Folding. Is there anything else I could be doing with them? (I cant run an http/ftp/whatever server, due to my ISP and their x-parent proxy) Maybe there's a way I can cluster them together, and fold only on one machine (with the power of the other three added to it somehow) and fold a lot faster. It takes me at least a week to finish a single WU, if not more.

| Re: Spare Computers Kicking Around You could use one of them to build a file server with 3-4 hard disks where you can store all your music/video/etc files. |

| Re: Spare Computers Kicking Around Theyre gonna stay folding until I get better computers, its just that they take so long to complete a single WU, I was wondering if its even worth it, or if there's some way to make them all work as one.

| Re: Spare Computers Kicking Around I can complete a work unit in less than a day with my e6400, but thats only one computer, and Im hoping to get a lot more computers from school (free donations - the school throws them out otherwise). Ive read about clusters but never found out how they were set up, and what kind of software was needed.

| Re: Spare Computers Kicking Around I just started getting them today. Restart F@H, and if it doesnt go away, just wait a few hours and try again. Could be having server issues.
