Only ever saw The Killers...

I don't really like concerts to tell you the truth... I'm still listening to the music? What do i care about being there? It doesn't really change anything. If anything it sounds worse live?

Although if I could see Flight Of the Conchords live I would be extremely happy.... they are the best!

^concerts are great because you get to meet the bands (depending on the band and the venue) and they put on a show
the second time i saw Mushroomhead they had tech difficulties with their mics and you couldnt hardly hear them but the show they put on made up for it in a big way. the way the lights were flashing different colors the band jumping around, the two percussionists put water on their drums so every time they hit it water would go flying.

I'm not a huge Slayer fan but went with some friends of mine who are hardcore fans. This was back around '92 or '93 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.

Megadeth opened for Slayer. Megadeth themselves are a huge and I was surprised they opened for Slayer and not the other way around. Anyhow, about halfway through their first song the fans pretty much drowned out Megadeth by chanting SLAYER! SLAYER! SLAYER! The fans bood and ran Megadeth offstage until Slayer finally came on.

Seriously, until that moment I didn't realize how hardcore and crazy true Slayer fans really were. It was insane and I was a little bit out of my element. I would have rather seen Megadeth.

I can't stand many of today's new bands, which 99.99% of the Warped Tour consists of. Actually, I'm looking through a list of Warped Tour bands and I can't say that I like any of them. I just can't identify with the current current generation of rock culture consisting of glam, phoniness, apathy and loudness before class. Current music is very hollow in my eyes in this day and age, with some very few exceptions.
that's a bad generalization. I think that today's music is much, much better than >80s. So much more talent... anyways, I don't really like the bands on the warped tour. They're not what they call rock, or even near metal. Pop. God, I hate that word x_x. Pop is what killed music, not today's rock.

Paco De Lucia? We have flamenco fans here? lol... My grandma knew Paco De Lucia personally... :P

No offense, but I think slayer is completely over rated metal.... completely :\.

no just no, yes there are some very talented bands out there now but nothing compared to what we had in the 80s (and earlier)
GNR
Metallica
Megadeth
Skid Row
Sabbath
Dio/Rainbow
Queensryche
Maiden
etc..

bands now a days just have to come out with a semi catchy song and people will give them millions and then they realize that the bands suck and cant make anymore music .... that is whats killing the music industry

The music industry relies heavily on image and advertising, in the 80's it wasnt such a singular focus, the rub is that people may enjoy one song and then love the musician reguardless of further songs they release, that was always in effect, a single hit is what can fill the seats at a concert; the music industry needs a better buisness model, or the internet will squash it.

I agree, I like the bands of the 80-70's better, I find most of the music I listen to is composed by lessor known writers/singers, or is older, ask any kid if he heard of "Men without Hats" and feel the huh?.
