Setting up Fax and phone on the same line.

Can anyone suggest how to setup the fax and the phone on the same telephone line?

The phone and the FAX are in different rooms, but connected to the same line.

If it is not possible then, does anyone knows how I can get unlimited Faxes to E-mail for free. I tried couple of services, but they have limited number of pages.

you shouldn't have to do anything if they are both plugged into a phone jack, you just can't recieve a fax while being on the phone and vise versa

I forgot to mention that I have a phone with an answering machine and the machine turns on after 4 rings. So I set the fax to 5 rings the incoming fax will not get thru becouse the answering machine will turn on. I f I set the ffax to 3 rings then the phone call will not be answered because the fax machine will be turned on.
