SETI@home

SETI@home is a scientific experiment that uses Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). You can participate by running a free program that downloads and analyzes radio telescope data.

Bascially seti gets so much information it would take them thousands of years to analze the data, so nerds like me and my fellow 2cpu.com friends do it for them. We are ranked in the top 200 teams.
