| Selling used computer games. So, I am moving this weekend and I was cleaning out all my old junk and I came across a bunch of computer games that I don't play anymore and I thought " hmm I should see if I can sell these to buy new games". So I called Gamestop and I asked them if they bought used PC games and the guy said " We do not buy used PC games and it is illegal to resell them". Now, correct me if I am wrong, but that is a load of BS isn't it? Because I buy used PC games from amazon all the time. Maybe I am wrong and I have been committing acts of piracy all along..and amazon has been too. Now obviously it would be wrong for me to resell a game if I installed and left it on my computer after selling the game. But if I uninstall a game and then sell it how is that illegal ?
your thoughts or your legal mind.. |

| Re: Selling used computer games. It a sale of second hand good. It one of the reason why the PC market is in such an uproar about some of the current DRM Method with bind a serial number to a user. This is understandable with an MMO. However single players games.... there is only going to be a number of times you are going to be interested in playing it until you are bored with it.

| Re: Selling used computer games. as long as it's serial isn't tied to a specific account or soemthing like that's it's fine. and make sure it's uninstalled so the serial can be reused if it's not tied

| Re: Selling used computer games. Please excuse the semi-thread hijack, but I've never used Ebay before (and don't want to start), but I've used craigslist quite a bit... I've had Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (brand new, sealed in case, never opened) on craigslist for about a year and haven't gotten a single email about it! Thing retails for like $50, but I've had it for $20... is that unreasonable, or do people just not like buying pre-owned games? |

| Re: Selling used computer games. Spit that is kind of funny because I am going to try and sell my PC games on craigslist or ebay/amazon too.
Although, if you haven't tried e-bay you should give it a shot. They allow like 5 or 10 free listings a month now.
Swibit- I cant remember off the top of my head, but I will check the titles tonight after work and post it |
