Default Satellite Radio - XM or Sirrius?

I live in a very rural area and am tired of nothing but crappy country radio and Top 40 playing "hits" that are 6 months old. I'm thinking of getting satellite radio to help make my long commutes a bit more enjoyable. What is better though, XM or Sirrius?

My brother has Sirrius (not sure if it's spelled that way or not) and it's pretty good, and from what I hear they have better service than XM.

IMO, just get an ipod, and load your favourite MP3's on it.

I would lean towards Sirrius primarily because it has the NFL. It also has a station called Fraction that rocks

you might also want to look at internet radio stations. I personally don't use any though, so I don't know what I could recommend.

I've been a Sirius (<---Correct spelling) subscriber for a couple of years for my brother. He used the radio, and I used the internet based music only...no radio. Honestly though, in the past year, I would NOT ONLY say....get Sirius, but if you happen to trade stocks....BUY SIRIUS! They are going to skyrocket very soon. About a year ago, they got Howard Stern on 2 channels. They have Martha as well.....yea, even though she did what she did, she's still worth millions.

If you've been reading the papers/interwebs lately, Sirius and XM have been discussing a merger, Sirius is in total control. They have more of a share then XM could dream of. In fact, 2 major automobile companies have recently dumped placing XM in their products and placing Sirius instead.

I personally listen to:
Channel 26: Left of Center as well as
Channel 12 Super Shuffle (This freaking station plays EVERYTHING....without a DJ)
and
Howard on 100 and 101

and a bunch of others....but those mainly

Since the time I subscribed, I've bought a radio for myself/home unit/car adapts/etc

I travel a lot though...and having this in my car with an FM modulator (the kind that completely blocks your FM anten) regardless of location, I get a clear signal ...... except tunnels of course. So, instead of flipping, it's a blessing of audio entertainment in a vehicle.

BTW, Sirius wasn't just a made up name....it's actually the brightest star in our galaxy (that we can see).....if you all know astronomy. What a clever name!

Sirius. I get it free with my parent's DISH network subscription. Nothing beats Howard Stern and Cousin Brucie.

I listen to Internet radio in the house, but in my car I don't have that luxury. Its an older car so it only has cassette and radio. Ill be getting this when I get my new car though. Ipod/mp3s are great, but I like the randomness and variety of the radio. Ill be looking into Sirius.
