Default Question about UK GCSE's

I don't expect anyone to really know the answer to this, but i cant find out anywhere else.

Every subject that i am doing, English, Geography, Humanities, Design etc i have coursework for, i have gave in this coursework and had a long time to learn about it etc - once i have handed it in, the teacher has reccomended changes to be made to let me get a higher mark.

Now the one peice of coursework i did really bad for was my French, but i ask my teacher if i can redo my coursework for a better grade and he said no. Yet i am allowed in all my other subjects.

Does anyone here know if you can redo french coursework ? or is my french teacher right ?. Because it seems odd to me. My dad wants to ring the school up and speak to my teacher, but id rather him not do this because then my french teacher will hate me and downmark me etc, so i am trying to get an answer before he rings.

Thanks.

The teacher is the right as the teacher is always right unless they say otherwise in GCSE .

What happens is the exam boards set a date when coursework HAS to be sent in by its usually about april/may just a month before the exam. Teachers then set when they want the students to do it by on an individual basis. When you can redo cursework in other subjects its because they haven't been marked by the exam board yet only by the teacher and so can be redone. Once the teacher has sent off the marks to the exam boards there is no chance of redoing it. Its the teachers fault for handing it in so early and Its your fault for not doing so well. My teacher was great in GCSE French he accidentally held his clipboard to low in orals so you could just about make out the answer providing you knew basic French and we didn't have to do coursework.

Yes, except he marked them himself and he is sending the 5 peices of coursework on february 9th. There all sat on his desk.

Sod it, i will redo them myself and go into the room and personally swap them over.
