| pw got hacked came home for a bad day... i don't know if this belongs here but i couldn't find anywhere else to post. anyways, i am registered in cal, but that doesn't really matter...my pw for the account got hacked and i used that pw for pretty much everything, got on aim and saw that i couldn't connect due to an incorrect password. now i had to change everything, each one different and as long with as many things to make me feel secure as possible. so, i was wondering that my password for the account had nothing to do with my username of any sort. i am positive that the other team did this to me. so, is there like a program out there that can get a password or something...not like i want to know to do this to them or anything. you can just like tell me yes/no or something, but i was thinking that there is nothing that can get my password...anyways, this is just a bad day also, another question, is there a possible way to delete an email account, like for hotmail or something? thanks. |

| That's a hard lesson to learn about passwords. I must admit that I have learned a similar one. Now I use a random password generator to make mine, and there's no repeats!
You can probably get anything that you want on the internet.
If you forget your password and you have auto-fill on, there is a program by SnadBoy the will change the dots or asterisks into the alpha-numeric form.

Then, I change 'em about every month to three months, depending upon the "importance" of the site.

Like I keep my password on my PDA, but what can the password manager do the job better for me?

| You should try Password Safe. You store your usernames and passwords in a password protected database, so you only have to remember one password. Then you can just copy and paste the username and password. It also has a password generator that generates hard-to-crack passwords.
I don't like writing my passwords down, because then if you accidently leave it somewhere and someone else finds it, your kind of screwed.

Using anything that is familiar for you is an easier way for people to guess your password.
