Default power consumption meter

is there any good power consumption meter on the market? like the ones you plug the meter into the real socket and theres a socket on the meter that you plug the appliance you want to measure the consumption. I'm hoping to find something in like watts if there is. thanks.

The Gadgeteer - Kill-A-Watt Electric Usage Monitor Review
Convenient Gadgets :: Kill A Watt
The Kill-a-Watt is a very popular watt/power consumption measuring device. It is very popular on the internet also. Many major benchmarkers use this to measure wattage/ power use.
