That's called eminent domain. The government can't "take" your house for roads, they have to pay you fair value on it. What was said at the beginning of this thread is that the government can now take your property, without paying you for it, and give the property to a private party. The two things are close, but are totally different. The eminent domain, the government PAYS you for your property to use for roads, etc. With this new law, the government TAKES your property and gives it to a private party/corporation (like Walmart).
