list the laptop manufacturer and model there may be a default password. if not you can open up the latop and reset the CMOS (where BIOS settings are stored) but that would be a last resort

9 times out of 10 the CMOS battery is located on the top side of the notebook motherboard. To get to this area, you'll just need to remove the keyboard set. It's normally fairly easy.

If it's a Dell Notebook, That's were it is.

But, please list the notebook make and model so we can better help you. There are a lot of backdoor / manuf. passwords you can try.
