Question New Phone

I need a new phone (verizon wireless network) but im hung up between some choices. I want a pda (smartphone) type cell. I want one with windows mobile, preferred with microsoft office mobile apps. I most likely will not be browsing the web or doing my email, but i will be using a calander alot and want reliable reminders. I do ALOT of texting. Also i want a full keyboard, so my options i am considering are.....

Motorola Q: I really like the slimness and the keyboard, but it has a slimmed down version of win mobile with no office apps and ive heard it gets bogged down. Also no touchscreen

Palm 600-700: These are my favorites, I like the touchscreen alot and it has all the features i need, but the 600 doesnt have win mobile, but the 700 does. The downside is that this is my most expensive option, considered out of my budget.

Samsung i700: I dont know much about this phone except that it has a touchscreen with win mobile and no keyboard. I thought I saw this phone with a slide-out keypad, but I dont remember it could have been a different phone.

Im just wanting some other peoples opinions and some insight on which one is best. (price vs performance)

I've never been a fan of Motorola phones and I've not heard great things about the Q. Most of Moto's stuff is fairly chintzy. I've heard positive feedback from the Palm models but they are pretty spendy.

Hopefully some one can provide more info on the Samsung models. They're generally very good phones and not too expensive, either.

i've heard that the windows mobile os is a lot better then the palm os. so the moterola might be a good buy if you're looking for a keyboard. Also you can pick up keyboards pretty cheap..

why not get an iphone? lolz.

I know this is going a little off topic but I heard on the radio (public radio! w00t!) that some 17 year old kid cracked the iphone so now it works with all cellular providers even over seas. They interviewed him and everything.

Yeah those were my choices, i really like the palm, and this might be what i go with, but someone on another forum mentioned the HTC mongul line. I have never heard of these and im looking into it right now, from what ive seen they look pretty cool.

If you want a smart phone with a full keyboard I would recommend getting the Treo 700 or if you don't mind waiting, Samsung has a new model i760 coming out pretty soon. (My buddy works for Verizon and has had this phone for a couple weeks now and says that this is one of the best phones he has had in a long time).

It is true apparently the company who he gave the phone to are offering him a job an a new car, (lucky kid) I just hope this info becomes public knowledge as this will make the iPhone cheaper to own.
