Default new breaks tick

About 4 months ago i got new breaks put on. A while after my left front tire started to tick when i would reach speeds over 35. When i would push on the break, the ticking would stop but then start up as soon as i let go. Now it is getting noticably worse. It does it almost immediatly. we also put the car up on jacks and ran the the tires. when doing this it did not make any sound. any ideas????

Check your lug nuts. It sounds like they're loose and the tire is wobbling. It's getting worst because they're getting loser. The reason why it didn't do it while on jack stands is because there wasn't enough weight. Check them immediately. It's not fun to lose a wheel while driving down the road.....that happened to my dad once.

what about this

*I'd have to look at to see for sure, it sounds like it could be a wheel bearing *going out. When you use the brake it kind of holds the rotor and the *bearing tight & strait. With out the break the wheel can move sideways. *It's really simple to check. Let me know when you go for lunch and I can *show you.

That would be my second guess.

If you fix it yourself it won't cost that much at all.

At my house we usually fix everything ourselves as my dad was a mechanic for 20 years.

I think you can even find "slightly" used wheel barrings.
depending on the vehicle you got.

Fixing car's isnt that hard, but I have only fixed them with a friend and auto teacher.

I would think the brake pad is hitting a peice of something, but I have no idea what I am talking about.

Yeah it definetly could be a "shim" that wasn't put in all the way, or became loose.
