Yes I heard about that. It says its fast switching but there was this part- The switching speed is in the range from milliseconds to seconds- Which kinda worries me. I hope it works good, and comes out soon. At the very least it will bring prices down on everything else and I can maybe get my second monitor.

you know, the fasted LCD's frequency are in milliseconds. whats stated above may just mean it hasnt been perfected, as most new technologys go threw that proccess. or perhaps its a good thing, like variable rate.

EDIT: either way, that thing will be superiour no matter what for sertain aplications.

They said they were having problems with the speeds before, but now things have vastly improved. I'm more interested in this for a TV instead of a monitor. TV's operate at much lower speeds and suck up a lot of power for detailed pictures. This thing could suck up hardly any power and have a resolution that would blow away any HDTV system out there.

Yea I figured that about it being a new technology that it isnt perfected by a longshot. But as far as how close it is to being on my desktop etc. This is whats gotta happen, people are talkin about how we'll have like 10Ghz machines like 5 years in the future, I think there will be somethin that will make ghz obsolete, and something totally revolutionary that we'll think in totally different terms.

there already is something that has made GHZ nearly obsolete, it's called AMD

anyway, I think the best thing to do is not to just stick to current technologies and develop them further, but to find new technologies which can be even better

GHz won't become obsolete unless it's a completely different method of sending data besides a frequency of electrons through a chip. Even with different standards of building a CPU with say nanotech instead of the transistors we know of today, the frequency inwhich they perform instructions would still be referred to as GHz

I doubt it will even be as long as 5 years before we hit a 10GHz chip. I've seen quite a few reports of Intel wanting to hit it within 2-3 years but we'll see how that actually plays out.

DROOL at the monitor. Low power would be one awesome benefit, not to mention that you can look at it from different angles.

Only a matter of time, nanotech will be integrated into basically anything and everything

Just wait until they inject 'water' filled with nanomachines in your blood stream that hunt out and kill virus's
