| My Latest Project Hi Everybody,
This Summer my parents (and unfortunatly me) are re-doing are deck and putting in a screenhouse and stuff so we have all this extra wood lying around so im gonna use it to build a trebuchet! The Arm is going to be a little less than 16ft long and the "stand" (thing that holds the arm in the air) is going to be 8ft. The pivot point on the arm is probly going to be about a foot or two twoards the weight. Anybody know if theres some complex equasion i have to do to figure out how much weight i need or should i just wing it? Maybee i'll launch my old pc into never never land if the thing actually works
P.S. For those of you who dont know what a trebuchet is its baicly a catapult that uses a slightly diferent concept. Google for more info |

| People are going to think you're crazy, but that's awesome. I wish I had enough extra wood laying around to build a big trebuchet. Good luck man.

| I bet one of the hardest parts for you is going to be getting the sling to release whatever you're launching properly. If it releases to early it won't go far, if it's to late it will slam it into the ground.

| Well watching MythBusters last night, they made giant slingshots, and the biggest problem they had, was getting the things they launched to stay in the slingshot for the right about of force..

| Yeah, I watched that too. Hes building a trebuchet, though, not a slingshot.

| I know, I was just replying to your post about getting it to fly right, and what I saw on MythBusters.
