| Mono + Strep! Well, just came from the doctors office. I was tested positive for mono. The initial Strep test came up negative, but i will know for sure on tuesday. Its very possible that i have mono and strep! MAN this sucks. You guys should see my throat. Its so red.... my tonsils are swollen and have "puss spots" all over them. They look like two strawberries stuck on either side of my throat. The little thing that hangs down (my girlfriend calls it a hangy ball) is twice its normal size. Everytime i swallow, it goes down my throat and hurts like a mother. Everytime i breathe out the things flops on the top of my tongue and makes me gag.
Anyone ever have this? If not this bad, ever had mono? The doctor said I could have gotten it from my sister. She had it like 6 months ago and its contagious for over a year. Now i have to take a week off work, and a week off school. This is gonna SUCK BUTT!
EDIT: Forgot to mention that i'ven waking up at 4a.m. WIDE AWAKE. I sit there shaking violently with a cold sweat and feels like i have to barf my insides out. I'm so tired too... its ridiculous. At noon today it felt like midnight. I took a "nap" from 2:30 until now (8:45). CRAZY! |

| It's called a uvula
I've never had mono. Didn't they used to call that 'the kissing disease' or something like that.......when you think of it that way it sounds odd when you say "Caught it from my sister' muahaha.
Just messin with ya though as I've heard it being pretty contagious which has obviously been proven here. Sucks though dude, I've had strep before......I hate having my throat sore, that's the worst thing in the world. |

| Never had either of those, but I usually get at least one sinus infection a winter, and I am currently on my second one for the winter and it sucks. I can't imagine what you're going through, although I had something similar to that last spring. It was horrible.
Get some pills, sleep as much as you possibly can and get well.

| Having mono is no fun. Been there, done that.
The fun part is that you will have it for the rest of your life. Once you get over this, it will lie dormant. Unless your immune system gets really low, you won't know it. But if your immunity lapses, you get hit again.
Another fun fact: The so-called "cronic fatigue syndrome" is caused by the mono germ.
I hope you're over it in a week. My wife was in bad shape for a month with it. |

| yea same with me. Once a year, and that's it. Sometimes, I deliberately go out into snow and rain without a jacket and stuff to get sick, but it doesn't work. I also have a really high metabolism. Stupid body...
