How do you become a moderator anyway???
do you have to pay.... or do you get paid.. or is it just a sort of thing you achieve from an upper that wants you to do it? |

It's all voluntary.
You get chosen to be a moderator due to your helpfulness, maturity and how you deal with certain situations, and your responsibility and commitment to Tech forums.
Post count does not make a major influence on the desicion if the person becomes moderator or not.
I think the TF mod team is full for now though.
I'l let trotter fill in the blanks.

nope, to have spam killing powers would include the main moderator powers. you can help by reporting or PMing about it though and i know you do Nukem
as for paying, Trotter said it. you'll be paying for eternity. banned people hold grudges :amazed:. the important factor is the way you conduct yourself. you can be a complete genius and have 150,000 posts but if you flame people just because they don't know as much as you, you have no chance. it's not it's cracked up to be, there is no pay and no "real" perks other than i get to violate sig rules  . the benefit i think we all get is being able to keep the forum going and that's enough.
