i never got past algebra 1.
i hate math and i think 90% is garbage and not needed in most real world applications.

IMO in 8th grade seperate all of the kids:
Everyone who wants to be a doctor, engineer, scientist, architect, programmer, or professor stand here, your taking this mind bending trash. You need it

Everyone else stand here... Your exempt from this math. You dont need it, and you most likely will never use it.

just took my algebra 2 finals today, my head hurts, I'll solve it later and give you an answer.

A common mistake for those problems is that you have to square (5-9) by doing (5-9)(5-9) instead of (5²-9²)

I made it 3.

Do it with out a calculator.

7 + ((5-9)(5-9)*2) = 39

(4+1)(4+1) - 3*4 = 13

39/13 = 3.

What year is 8th grade? edit: Age wise.

right side = 13 and the left side is 39 not 25

5-9= -4
-4 squared = 16
16 x 2=32
32+7=39
39/13=3

yeesh.....woulda helped if you had made an effort to show that certain things needed to be squared. The universal way of saying something squared online is doing 2^2 like that which would mean 2 squared. Can't just put a 2 out there and expect people to know you meant it to be squared.

Now I see you've posted that screenshot.

Thank you for using a REAL resolution on your computer, none of that 1024x768 crap, and none of that 1280x1024 junk.

Real men use 1600x1200 and above.

Real men have 2 22" CRT monitors even though there is no space for them.
