Default legendary laptop

i own a compaq contura, it it now 13 years old and is still going strong. well sort of it now has a battery life of 0 and so has to be plugged in whenever i use it.
i have never seen anything like this kind of reliability. i was under the impression that HDDs lasted about 4 years before developing rattle:eek:
if anyone else has any comp as legendry as this i would like to hear what u have to say

Would you like to know a way to try to get battery life again, it's a bit dangerous if you dont have a face shield though...

A program at my old high school uses Apple IIe's for daily work
My mom put out a weekly newspaper read in about 30 some sates for ten years on Apple Quadra 605's that I now have and use for system 7 apps and games

I have my dads old toshiba libretto 100 ct and it also has to be plugged in all the time. I play around with it every now and then because it is fun typing on the tiny keyboard.

well this was my dads too. i have to agree there is nothing like typing a laptop without touchpad control.

no touchpad= keyboard closer to user= less streching= more comfortable user
this is what i have found in my limited experience

TRS-80

Stands for Tandy/Radio Shack 80 series personal computer. Everything was run from huge floppy disks... I think it was actually pre-DOS But I've only used it to play some really really old text-based games
But these things are like tanks... it would take a nuclear holocaust to destroy these things

Okay strip a 110 volt wire to bare ends, find the positive and negative and mark them

Find the battery, the positive and negative and mark them

Place the negative wire on the negative terminal

Brush the positive on the positive terminal VERY QUICKLY

I am not responsible if people get hurt
-Do not use on Car Battery's
-Wear a heavy long sleeve shirt
-Wear a face mask
