I wondered if that's what happened. I visited their website a few days ago on a whim and it was all Tigerdirect down to the last detail. Makes sense I guess. They probly got a killer deal on the brand name when they bought it.

Wow your right, their site is just like tiger direct, except for all the red. Our Comp USA store is still open although last time i was there they were purging mech as fast as they could. Maybe ours is one of the luck 16.

I remember when my local one went out of business. Towards the end the only good deals were on software-- all 50% off, even stuff like Vista and Photoshop. They didn't really have anything good for laptops and such since it was 10-20% off MSRP and the merch was all last gen. They were selling the fixures and everything the last couple of weeks, too.
Funny thing is, they're sign is still up on the building they were using. The company is probably still stuck paying the leases on their retail space for another year or two in many cases.
