I don't know much about other people, but personally I wouldn't use s/w that someone I don't know anything about gives me. Could be a virus.....
In anycase, if you are looking for a tool idea, why don't you investigate a "Windows sandbox".. A s/w that you can use to test out applications without actually installing them. More of a virtual environment without risking your system.
Or if u are looking to make a simple tool, it might be useful to have something that can calculate hashes (e.g. MD5, SHA-1, SHA-2) over "directories" - as opposed to single files. Can be used to check integrity of copied files for example.
