Default I need a book

I have to pick a book for an independent reading project and I need suggestions. I was thinking either Brave New World or Stranger in a Strange Land. Anyone read either of those or have any other favorites? It can be any book, fiction or nonfiction, as long as it's appropriate for school.

Animal farm seems to be appropriate these days... the movies not bad either. . . (*or was that animal house*)?

Actually, you will probably have to read brave new world eventually. . . either high school or college. ..

I'm not a religous freak, but a mere interested party.

I think that the "Left Behind" series is a very powerful and insightful idea about what the end of the world will be like when Christ comes back... supposedly.

The authors are Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

Hmm... thanks for your suggestions guys. I think I'm going to go with Brave New World cause like gruntwerk said I'll probably have to read it another time anyways.
