| Plasma's are nice, but you can't get a cheap one. Also the lamp life is 60,000 hours, incase you watch alot of TV. |

| go down to sears.......
ask the electronics associate to look at the 991'd tv's....
find a TV you like, you will get a nice discount (because it is a floormodel, but dont worry)
purchase the mechandise protector agreement for the extra $300. And it is covered for around 3 years.... If anything happens to it.. you get a brand new TV. |

| My family always has the worst LUCK! when we bought this computer, like 1 months later pentium 4 came out, when we bought our 43" samsung about 3 years ago with all the new technology, DLP, DNIe all that stuff, the lamp life was like 8,000 Hours, and it cost us about $5k canadian with tax and everything, now its half the price, WAY more life, and better technology. |

| My parent's newest TV is a 51" Sony Widescreen Projection, with DVI inputs, VGA inputs, progressive scan...we got it on sale from $2600 down to $2200.
The "perfect" television would be a 36" Flatscreen. Very nice picture quality, and actually movable. |

| Plasma isn't as good as it's made out to be, I perfer LCD. First of all, Plasma will get dimmer and dimmer rather quickly, where as LCD will always stay the same. I think now is a bad time to get a high end TV, with SED just around the corner. It is cheaper than LCD and plasma, and it combines all the good qualities of CRT, LCD and Plasma.
(and holy ****, a 70" TV?? If it's LCD or plasma, that will cost more than some fancy cars! I know samsung makes an 80" plasma (they used to anyway) that cost $40,000.)

| Honestly, 70" screens are nice and all, but totally overkill if it's not in a HUGE ROOM. I MEAN HUGE!!!!
Stick to like 50" tops. Unless you have a mamouth room. then fork over the $5000.00

| Personally I think DLP and LCD displays look better - from what I have seen in stores.
The Plasma has kind of a dull look to it, the colors are not as vibrant. This of course may be due to how the store has the TV set - but I've noticed it on a consistent basis.
Good luck finding a plasma screen as big as you want it without selling your car. They usually max out around 50" or so. |
