Bad news with maxtor... it will most likly be dead in a year or two... im not talking from experience so dont kill me with that statement...

Maxtors have gotten better in the past few months with there hard drives.....

I dont see why ppl bash Maxtor. I still have the very first HD i ever got and its a 3 gig maxtor and still runs great and i still trust it to keep my back up stuff.

Yea ive seen maxtors last a long time at my school and the computers they sit in get punched all the time

Every Maxtor I have owned has died.
And 50% of the time when i am servicing a computer with a dead hard drive, it a Maxtor

I got a maxtor and imnot haivng problems with it. Maybe its because you dont know how to take care of your hardware

Yes, I've had 2 Maxtor hard drives fail me in the past. I avoid them now when buying new parts for my computers. Other then that, thats a nice system.
