That is sooo much better then the one where he dies...witht his one there could of had been a follow up movie.

That is a good ending... but the original atleast mentioned a cure.. This one basically implies that the cure is hopeless and we are left to simply battle/ride out the days until the infected are all gone.

I think they're both equally good. I do have a slight lean toward the original though. A bit more dramatic and doesn't leave you hanging in the wind like this one.
