Default Help needed!!

Alright..I'm having a computer Built at a local store. I'll Give the stats.(BTW I'm a new member here, happy to be here)

Motherboard-GiGabyte Ga-8ipe 1000pro 865 Chipset
CPU-Pentium 4 3.0GHz 512K 800 MHZ(FSB)
Memory-DDR Ram 256 PC-3200 Crucial x2
Video card-ATI 9800 Pro
80 GB 7200 RPM 8mb cache.
16x DCD w/Power DVD
Lite On 8x DVD +/-RW
Antec 3700 AMB 350w 7 Slots
MS-Windows XP Home

For around 1450.

I am a hardcore gamer..And i was wonderign if this would be a really good bargin for computing And doing word processing, seeing as how I am a Student. I hope to be ablt to Play Doom 3 on the higest settings smoothly. Alright Thanks again in advance. Also Please Post anything that might be worth changing. =D

I'm not sure you need that fast of a processor. I would go with like 2.8 ghz and then raise the ram to like 1 gig. But for the price its pretty good.

www.magicmicro.com is a great store. I would check it out sometime.

Is Magic Micro really Legit, and if they are what are the shipping times? I custom made one and love the price for waht you get (9800XT 256mb Video Card) For what i'm paying for a pro..I LIKE!

Look at my sig, what I got there plus creative 6.1 surround was for 1025 built by my self. 480w psu, audio fx gaming headphones

to pay Doom 3 on Ultra Quality, a 512MB vid card is recommended....which I hope you realized that it doesnt exist. If your 9800 pro is 256MB, you should be able to run on High ok. If it is just 128MB, you may be down to Medium....Doom 3 is very demanding.

dont think about high unless 1gb of ram and 256mb gfx card
