| Gamestop game trade-ins suck Well I learned that trading in games is a joke.
I called saturday to see if I could trade in some games. I told them the names and they said theyll take them. I asked how much but he couldnt give me an without scanning the games and looking it up in the computer.
Sunday I went to gamestop to trade in these games. The games were Saints Row, COD 3, NFL 2k6 (I think?), and the whole GTA series for xbox. So he rings the games up and it came to a total of $28. I was like youve got to be kidding me. I figured since they were all in mint condition cases and all intact with minimal scratches I could get $60 atleast for those games but I figured I would just go for it. It then turned out luckly my friends mom was there since you need a parent if your under 18 to sign all kinds of paperwork incase its stolen. I then went on ebay and saw what I could have got and I was ripped off big time. I feel like a **** head now.
Hate gamestop so bad except for the fact a friend works there and apparently gives 2x as much as your suppose to for games. Guess I should have waited.

| Re: Gamestop game trade-ins suck It's because most of those games are for a more or less dead system and they will have a hard time selling them. I would venture to say that the most any of those games would sell for is 5-9 bucks. Check ebay, the amount of effort it would take to sell them there for an extra few bucks isnt worth it. |

| Re: Gamestop game trade-ins suck And it's like that every where you go. The game you are trying to trade in are old. And the shops need to make money some how. Keep in mind that the shops are mainly hoping for a quick turn around on stock (new or 2nd hand). And if the product is just going to sit there, then it's taking up space.
The only good thing about trading in at a shop is that it's instant Credit for your next purchase.
In all honesty, you are better off selling the games off privately. That is what I am have been doing.

| Re: Gamestop game trade-ins suck Personally, i've found that its just not worth the time and effort it takes to sell the games privately. I'm guessing this is true for a lot of people and this is why places like EB and gamestop only pay so much for used games. |

| Re: Gamestop game trade-ins suck actually, I do lie with my first post. For a while, I did find this one 2nd hand DVD/CD/Game shop. And while they were still around, they offered some rather reasonable prices for the games that I am trading in.
