From the BF2 site for BF2, and for Source games use the Source Dedicated Server which you can download from steam

And it will have directions to setting up a server and having it listed when people want to join a server?

And basically how you rent out a server is that you tell someone that you will let them host a specific server for a month for a certain amount of money? Seems simple enough.

I'm sure they would have a kick out of what I said, but I see illegial Battle.net servers go up and down all the time just because people can't afford the bandwith when people find out that they can cheat easily or sometimes on the major ones they get banned/deleted a lot sooner. I think Battle.net should allow people to set up private servers for things like that. It's not like it's hurting them any.
