Default Game Servers...

I have been thinking about expanding my business by offering game servers due to many requests. I would be offering at first enemy territory, bzflag , HL2, and CS most likely. I can not offer Doom 3, unless they come out with a linux server.

I will only start this if there are enough requests. Remember -its just a thought; it may never happen.

Game server require lots of bandwidth. It will constantly have players downloading and uploading data. First make sure there's demand, your prices should be competative and the service you are offering should be reliable and up to date with current requirements.

And it requires a good PC, you should run max 2 servers per processor.

I know what it requires, it would be a server in a professional datacenter. If I do this, I will need to have some people who want game servers first.

I am quite sure the BSAA (or what other anti software piracy mob) would find that funny too.

On a serious note, I know in australia that one of the ISPs has created a FREE and LEGAL Linage II server.

No BF2? 0_0

How does one get the software to set up a game server anyways? I've always been curious about that.

It's typically just available for download free of charge.
