Default fixed images in firefox?

what am i doing wrong?
i've been writing html forever. why doesn't firefox understand bgproperties=fixed .......when the rest of the browsers DO

just when i thought i was done with a project, firefox had to kick me down.
the spacing is messed up as well
i expect that from safari, not another windows based browser. any ideas?

please someone help me out...
not only did i run into the fixed packground problem... the jump to links ....faq.html#1, faq.html#2, etc. don't work in firefox but work everywhere else.
what's going on? i can't believe i'm letting html kick my ***.
any day now i'll be calling my desktop my screensaver.... and then i'll be asking "what's a mouse?"
sincerely,
stupid

i figured it out.... it's funny how i forgot something SO basic after not using it a year or so. i'm talking about jumpy links of course. and yes, i make up words.

so, the score is 1:1... the fixed images thing still has me wondering.
i'm not a firefox user, but i like to check my work on other browsers.
is the background going to scroll no matter what?
