Default Firewire Pyrotechnics

Well I first saw this idea on a video on compfused.com

So im like cool! lemme give it a shot......
Here is my cousins try at it (i was the person holding the camera)

Very simple... fine steel wool, with a non flammable string tied tightly in the middle of the wool, and you use a lighter to light it.

<embed style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px" name="mediaplayer1" pluginspage="http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/MediaPlayer/" src="http://www.nrqproductions.com/uploads/firewire.wmv" width="320" height="240" type="application/x-mplayer2" loop="false" autostart="false" enablecontextmenu="false" showstatusbar="true"></embed></div>

I have lit steel wool on fire before, but never swung it around
We used to light steel wool on fire with electricity though.

I however won't try this at home, I will try it at school

That's cool. Although, I hope the person performing the swirling was wearing protective clothing. I wouldn't want to get burning steal wool on my skin.

That would make some awesome still photography shots. You could play around with shutter speeds and ISO settings...
