let's say you're planning to build a new computer.....and money is not an object...what components, peripherals and specs would you choose or buy....

i haven't formulated mine,..but i would surely love to see the pc/components/specs that everybody's dreamin about..

If money was no object, then I wouldn't care about the specs since I would be paying someone else to figure that part out!

I would have multiple, large, monitors that would handle all my viewing pleasure from work to websites to games to movies, and all at the same time! A great sound system would be a must there too. And my wizard would handle making sure the pc or pc's handled all that plus whatever.

Someone once posted a "work station" that had everything built in. It included the swivel chair, desktop, computer everything, multiple monitors, lighting, music, etc. That would be good to see again.

Okay, so back to the people that know specifically what they want! LoL!

I know this will not surprise any of you in the least, but I would get a PowerMac G5 (as soon as they start shipping) With two 23" Apple Cinima Displays and a Harmon/Kardon Soundsticks sound system. I'd also upgrade to two 240 GB 7500 RPM HDs and probably get some cool DJ remixing hardware/software to boot. (that's what i'm interested in) Since most of the hardware is from Apple, i'd have no choice but to live with what they gave me

(**** them, but I can't hate them forever)

Oh, ne more thing i'd get, a new 30 GB iPod. I've always wanted one and now, since money isn't an object, i'm getting one. Oh wait, this is the virtual world. I live in the real world. Darn. Guess i'm not getting an iPod.

Oh well.

the g5 is also on my list,...the nice thing about apple is that they make components themselves,..so if any component or the entire machine fails,..you only have one manufacturer to go to,....unlike pc's which are melting pots of various component manufacturers.....you have a graphics failure...go to ATI or Leadtek....you have mobo failure,..bring the board to asus or abit.
