well i have a quick question ..
does directx prevent the games from crashing down ?? unexpected shutdown ?? and other stuff that sucks ??
and is the directX 10 compatabile with windows xp ?? is it out yet ?

You need a slap .

DX10 is not out on XP, DirectX RUNS the game and games would not run without it, DirectX can be the cause of games crashing. But usually its some random error.

Windows will have basically a watered down version of DirectX10, called DirectX 9.0L. It won't be as good as DirectX10 but it will be better than 9.0c. Or what ever it is now.

I thought the whole directx 9.0L thing was an inquirer mess up in which they apologised for getting their info wrong.

i haven't heard anything about 9.0L and another thing by windows you mean Xp right? considering there are over 10 different versions of "windows" around.
