Default Desktop Modding

hey guys, i just want to know what program can i use to mod my desktop. I want to give my desktop a nice look, tired of the same boring backgrounds and want to add something unique. I have see some modded pics of desktop and was wondering if anyone knows which program is best to use. Also, is it hard to mod desktop and if there is already a modded destktop that someone made and I can just download it. Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What do you mean by modded desktop? I know that for a new background there are some pretty good ones at digitalblasphemy.com and if you want to change the overall appearence of windows than you could download a program such as windowblinds. does this info help?

If you're new to desktop customization, start with Windowblinds. There are tons of WB themes available at www.wincustomize.com (along with cursors, icons, and wallpapers) so just spend a while looking through there and find some things you like.

If you wanna get more into it, you can try downloading some additional programs such as MobyDock, Samurize, or Rainlendar.

If you feel like getting really hardcore, you can try downloading an alternate shell like Litestep, GeoShell, or for the ultra-minimalist, BlackBox. Personally I prefer BlackBox for a clean, speedy desktop.. but a lot of people find it hard to adjust to.
