| Chronic Illness Anyone here have a chronic illness that becomes a pain in the *** sometimes? I've had chron's disease for 3 years now and man is it a pain in the ***. I initially spent 1 month in the hospital and then 1 year recovering.
I donno its a long shot, but does anyone else here have it? Apparently it affects a large percent of the population (well, not large but over half a million at least), but maybe its just not something people mention so I dont hear about many with it. |

| You mispelled the disease but google still found it. It's crohns disease
"Crohn's disease: A chronic inflammatory disease, primarily involving the small and large intestine, but which can affect other parts of the digestive system as well. It is named for Burrill Crohn, the American gastroenterologist who first described the disease in 1932."
I had never heard of it either. Yeah I got a chronic illness.........I just can't stop smoking that sweet chron. |

I dont really have a chronic illness, but i have back problems, high blood pressure, and high heart rate. I could have a heart attack at any second... and i'm 18.

| I know several people that have it. It's something that you really want to listen to your doc and not mess around with making it worse. A colostomy bag is not the most desired ending that anyone would want, but that is NOT the way it always ends up.
There are some natural products that have immensely helped other people with this condition. I'd mention a couple, but can't since that might be a conflict of interest due to my Hunni's business.
Take care of yourself!

| You can replace your intestines with a BAG!?!? What the?? How the [SNIPPED - Read the profanity rules and thread] would that work, don't your intestines absorb nutrients out of stuff you eat?

From what I know, they re-route whats left of your intestines to a hole they cut in your side and basically you have a colostomy bag that hangs there and you poop through your side and into a bag.
It really sucks i'm sure... |

I think. | I think he was using that as an expression, but it's ironic that it can be true. Most of the pain is generally the lower abdomen, but there can be pain with Crohn's in alot of places.
I used to get chronic bronchitis. It was a real pain in the neck! There was one year that I had it for 3 months, but that's been a long time ago.
