Is there a cell phone I can buy for me and my girl friend and talk to my girl friend for free using the same brand cell phone? I was thinking about buying 2 $100.00 internet skype phones one fore me and one for her to talk back and forth. The only problem with that is she is always at work and school is starting soon so she will be at work and school all the time then. She works during the day and has school at night since she is home schooled.

Well I think most major cell phone companies have that, Verizon has unlimited airtime when it is a "verizon to verizon" call.

At&t has something similar also... But it is going to cost you a minimum of ~$54 for a 2 phone plan....

Yeah Verizon has "IN" calling so it's free for Verizon to Verizon calls. The plans are kinda spendy, though. I think their family plans (2 or more lines) start circa $60 a month. I have no idea about anyone else, though. I get a hefty discount through Verizon so I've never researched any other company. I assume they've all got similar deals.

I don't want a plan. I think I am going to get the skype phones but the thing i hate about that is no mobility like cell phones. I can't take my skype phone with me everywhere which is why I kinda want a cell phone. I don't want to waste money on a plan though.

But yes, most providers have free "provider X to provider X" calling. You probably have to be a subscriber though.

i just got a new verizon phone. and it's funny cause my dad works for verizon so he gets his discount, but the discount that the dealer provided was less then if he used his employee discount. But i ended up w/ a sweet enV, orange of course, for 100. but yea, verizon has free "IN" calling, and you can get a cheap plan that has like 100 minutes, or less, and then just talk to verizon people and you'll be fine. and when you sign up with the verizon plan you can usually get either really nice phones for cheap, or free phones with the plan.

I have a home phone but I hate it. A lot of times it lags really bad. Sometimes your voice breaks up and all this other crap.
