Well best explination i can come up with well the two best explinations I have up up with from this chart is:
1) It is a result of stelar drift over time the starts an other Celestial bodies (note not uma therman) have drifted that way.
2) It's a laft over from the formation our galaxy with the dead space accounting for older star clusters that have burned out or never realy got to form.

Well from what ive seen the leading theory for the large voids is that quantum flucturations at the earliest stages lead to such regions, as earliest amounts of matter were spread unevenly.

| Re: An awful waste of space!? If you are one of the people who believe the big bang theory, look at it as more of a popcorn effect rather than one huge boom. And even if it was one huge boom, different stuff travels different distances in an explosion and in all directions. And, given the billions of years they have been traveling....
