Default atomic detonation pics and other nifty things

I'd never seen these before... pretty darn cool if you ask me.

Photos are by Harold Edgerton, who invented high-speed stroboscopic photography. He's taken a number of other high-speed camera shots such as bullet impacts and the like.

More about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Edgerton

You can search Google and find more of his photographs easily.

If it interests you at all, I highly recommend visiting this site for alot of really cool high-speed videos of things smashing, breaking, squishing, exploding, imploding, dropping, shooting, etc.: http://www.engr.colostate.edu/~dga/high_speed_video/

Well, at least if one of those goes off nearby, I know what to do.

Those look pretty awsome, don't want to be near it when it goes, though.

definitely awesome stuff. I wish I had a super insane fast capturing camera like on myth busters just for my own amusement.

That one site linked way up above with the videos is crazy, especially the one with the human skin being hit by a BB or paintball.....it's freakin insane how you can see a shockwave ripple through the skin lol.

This was definitely a nice interesting find dude. Good thread for once

I'd rather be near it and die quickly than far off and die slowly from radiation poisoning
