| anyone into cars? as the title states, is anybody on Tech-Forums a car nut?
My parents are set on buying either of these cars, since i'm buying their 1992 Acura Integra...
- 2005 Saab 9-5 Linear 4-cyl http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/u...x.cfm/id/2464/
- 2005 Toyota Camry SE V6 http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/u...x.cfm/id/2511/
I agree that the Toyota Camry is a better car than the Saab...better reviews, powerful, and comfortable.
The Saab does have turbo and traction control, but does that exactly make it better than a Toyota? It's a GM car....
If anybody owns one of these vehicles, or knows somebody that has one, could you tell me how they are?
Any help is appreciated, thx... |

| I would go with the Camry. Yes the Saab may have a turbo and traction control, but do your parents really need the joy of a turbo? The Toyota Camry is a tried and true car. Great mileage, haven't heard of any major problems with them, and I see quite a few of them on the roads.

| Camry has terrible gas mileage. I know they have a reliable reputation though. Honestly though, I don't think they're worth the money. If you're going in the Japanese market, go for an Accord. Crisp handling, very fast if you get the V-6 (240hp), great mileage and an awesome reputation as well as next to untouchable reliability. Honda is amazing.
I wouldn't even put that Saab in the line up honestly. I know that's one model Saab has had some serious problems with.
If I were you, I would change it to a V-6 Accord, put a Subaru Legacy GT (sedan) in there with a Mazda 6 V-6. Those will all get you great mileage, great reliability and comfort. As well as some serious power.

| Yes.
I wouldn't go with either. Saab will be very understeery, and poorly built dash (to German standards, it will be great compared to American cars though.)
As said the Subaru Legacy is a really nive car.
Have a look into what the Germans make.

| have ur parents considered buying a Mercedes C Class? its a really good benz for the price. if not then, i personally like the new Acura sedans, and Lexus, ask them if they'd be interested in those, or even Nissan and Infiniti, all great jpn cars. |

| I just bought a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. Brand new it cost me $28000 Canadian. I think even after $$ conversion, it is cheaper in the US.
I think professional car reviewers say that this car is better than the 2006 Camry.
Reason why it's cheap? Hyundai wants to get into the North American market with a bang. Their cars before 2005 couldn't compare against like the Camry and Accord. Now that they can, I thnink they are really subsidizing the price to gain market share.
It's a big car. I am 6"2, and I fit in their quite comfortably. If you don't want to upgrade the audio system, the standard one is pretty good. Sunroof, ABS, cruise control, security system, etc.

I did a lot of research about this man. Before I spent ~$28K Cdn, obviously I had to be sure. And Hyundai sonata was definitely the best deal out there for less than $35K Cdn. http://autos.yahoo.com/newcars/hyund...r_reviews.html |
