The term is called 'terminal velocity' I believe....thats when you've hit a point where you can't go any faster....I also don't know what that specific height may be, but it'd probably be dependant on a few factors so I doubt there really is a dead on height.
Anywho, in regards to that....I think it's a bit exaggerated to say 'she fell 3000 feet and survived' as screwed up as what happened in her situation that parachute DID slow her down significantly...this isn't to say someone absolutely wouldn't die from it, but she landed only a tad bit before the guy in the chute so that tells you right there she was slowed down a **** of a lot....50mph impact is nothing to laugh at, but it's not a just solid "3000 ft fall, lady survives"
of course if someone DID survive a straight on 3000ft fall I'd say that that persons secret identity is clark kent
