Lightbulb How to effectively troubleshoot a Network

Just a quick tip on effectively troubleshoot a computer network. This really cuts down on the amount of time it takes to find a solution.

When troubleshooting a network, one of the easiest ways to find a solution to your problem is by going in the order of the OSI (Open Sytem Interconnection) model. Always start out with the basics.... the Physical layer. You'd be surprised how many times the problem is caused by a disconnected cable..


Physical

Data Link

Network

Transport

Session

Presentation

Application
