I beleive thats an old .cab files from Windows Update.
go to this path below

C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\WebSetup\wusetup.c ab

cut all the files and paste it to your desktop

and then do the same for the file below

C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\SelfUpdate\Default \wusetup.cab

Then try to update again

This is a tuffy...make sure you make a restore point and remove these entries

It can't update still! It gave me the same wuweb.cab error thing...?

What the **** is .cab anyways?

Basically, it says it needs to install and "ActiveX" Controller in order to proceed, then once I do it flashes the browser viewing area a couple times, then the update frame just has that error like in the screenshot....

Still no go...

I'm just going to format at this point. It would be a lot quicker and painless seeing it takes me less than a day with lovely external HDs handy....
