Default weird thing

i have norton 2003, mcaffee firewall (free with aol), spybot s & d and i have adaware. i do scans quite often and dont usualy get viruses, i download safely etc.

yesterday i came to turn my pc on and i worked fine untill it came to the black screen with grey writing, the one where it tries to boot from cd and whatnot, then usually it just loads windows and were on, but this time windows did not load it just stayed at the black screen after it says failed to boot from cd. i had to reformatt as numerous attempts to repair the problem failed.

does any1 know wots going on?

what do you mean by usually? a normal pc shouldnt have a black screen with grey writing on startup? sounds like something was up with your pc for a while until it finally fell over, so to speak!

Has this screen dissapeared on startup now that you've re-formatted? and whats your specs?
