Default Virus that damages cd burner?

Well, i did get a virus a while ago, it was a trojan 2.1v or something like that, i got rid of it. But then i'd say a couple weeks after i tried burning a cd, and it says my cd burner is detached, like not connected. I dunno if it would be from a virus or that it finally crapped out.So if someone could give me a solution to this, thanx. Like is there a scanner that i can get for teh comp that would fix this, or do i have to do it manually,(like through control pannel or somethin.) i did take my computer apart so see if it was actually detached, but i couldn't find anything. So if anyone can help, plz do, and thanx.

The virus is probably affecting your CD burning software.

Follow MicroBell's 5-step process to have a clean system free of viruses, worms, malware, spyware, etc.

I went and followed the link that talldude123 recomended.

Alright, i had a trojan virus before, but i'm sure i get rid of it, nothin comes up anymore, this was about a month ago, i think it was 2.1 v or close to that. i have Ad-Aware SE personal, Spy-Sweeper, and Spybot search and Destroy for virus protectors. My problem is that my cd burner doesn't work no more. I think the virus did somethin to the hareware or something. I use windows media player, i did the windows update and everything. It rips cds still and all. Reads cds I just can't burn them, it says connect a burner and restart the player. Here's my log:

First of all, which antivirus software are you using? I didn't see it running in your HiJackThis log.

Second, make sure Windows Firewall, or a similar firewall is enabled.

Onto the log:
Fix the following entries using HiJackThis:

F3 - REG:win.ini: load=??? ??? ??? ? ? ?????

O2 - BHO: Core Library - {A23AB93D-6CFF-442c-BB8A-41F6145F47E7} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\PDF06d4.dll

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaE ngineMain

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Vga Locks Manager Global] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\find bags vga locks\binddrv.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SafeGuard Popup Updater (required)] regsvr32 /s C:\WINDOWS\System32\PDF06d4.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Popup Defence Updater] regsvr32 /s C:\WINDOWS\System32\pdfupd.dll

.exe

On a lighter note, I do not recommend System Mechanic or any other "PC mechanic" software. Using MicroBell's 5-step process is good enough, and cleans your PC, instead of damaging it.

I think microbells 5 step program needs more steps, but it is very helpful I even took parts of his to make my own . And Iv never used system mechanic does it do the same job Ccleaner does?

System Mechanic is like Norton Systemworks. It's nothing like CCleaner. It "fixes" Windows errors and scans for viruses.
