Virus that blocks your Display Properties

Has anyone out there heard of a virus that blocks you display properties? I think I got rid of it pretty quick, but I still don't have the ability to change the wallpaper, or screen saver. It changed my wallpaper and kept saying that I have spyware on my computer and to click on the box to get rid of it. Of course I didn't do that I tried uninstalling it and finally I was able to get rid of it on startup and then went into the registry and deleted all the keys I believe were connected to it. I am running Windows XP Home
