| Trojans the Most Widespread Malware during 2Q. About 83% of the malware that surfaced in the second quarter of this year were Trojans. Trojans represented 83 percent of the new malware that emerged in the second quarter of 2007, and 26 percent of the infections detected by ActiveScan, Panda Software’s online scanner, in the same period. This makes Trojans the cornerstone of the current malware model. HNS - Trojans - the most widespread malware in Q2 2007 |

| yep, and antivirus programs are overall weak at detecting trojans, further making these 'best scanner' arguments pointless, proving the need for several scanners. ex. avg antispyware (good for trojans), a squared free (good for trojans), in addition to your antivirus of choice, spybot & hijack this. (I left out adaware since the 2007 version crashes frequently on xp & doesn't work on vista) |
